[slideshow id=9] -ISMS:
According to the Urban Dictionary, (my favorite online source for all things slang) -ISMS are something about a person that is unique to them and is added to the end of their name.
i.e., BEN-ISMS
According to me, -ISMS are exactly what my reliable reference says, OR… the funny shit I hear kids say.
The song Like a G6, by Far East Movement was played everywhere when it dropped in 2010. The tune was so catchy that you couldn’t help but want to learn the lyrics. Three years later, I still hear that popular song on the radio. If you can’t recall the words, I’ll give you the hook. Hopefully it will jog your memory and make you want to sing along.
This is the version taught to me by a little pipsqueak I know:
Poppin’ bottles in the ice, like a blizzard
When we drink we do it right gettin’ slizzard.
Sippin’ sizzurp in my ride, like a Three 6
Now I’m feelin’ so fly like a CHEESE STICK.
LIKE A CHEESE STICK. LIKE A CHEESE STICK.
Now I’m feelin’ so fly like a CHEESE STICK.
When the record was first released, I didn’t give it a minute’s thought as to the meaning of the song. To be honest, I didn’t really care. I just assumed the lyrics sung from the backseat of my car were accurate regardless if they made absolutely no sense at all!
AND JUST TO LET YOU KNOW… Whenever I hear the song now, it still makes me laugh and I always go with the cheese stick version. I wouldn’t dream of singing it any other way. But it kinda does make me wonder…….. When you’re sippin’ sizzurps in your ride, do you feel like a cheese stick too?
