It's COOL To Be KIND

Folks of Baltimore,  it’s enough!  What the fuck is the matter with you people?  Don’t you know that reacting to violence with more violence is not solving a damn thing?  What kind of message do you think that sends to our younger generation?  Clearly you need a refresher course in human behavior.  Clearly you need to be reminded that bitch slapping one another and blowing shit up and wreaking havoc all over town is not the kind of unpolishedness we need in this world.  Clearly, you need to get a better grip!  You NEED to learn and learn fast that:

It’s COOL To Be KIND

KINDNESS MATTERS

Boy does it ever!  A little kindness goes a long way.  You’d think being kind would be a universal trait that matters to everyone but based on recent current events it seems we’ve got a lot of work to do in order to get the unkind on board.

As individuals, I think we all have a personal responsibility to be kind to others.  As parents, I think we have a downright obligation to teach our children how vital it is to show compassion for and treat others with kindness.  Our examples can help and will help to pave the way so that living in a world with kindness is not the exception, but rather it is the rule for how people treat people.  Being kind should be an exercise of common sense.  It boggles me that there are many who don’t subscribe to this thought process!

The Queen Of Kindness

Nobody exudes kindness quite like my dear friend, Laura Reiss.  In my eyes, she is the gold standard when it comes to kindness.  To know her is to love her and my admiration for the selflessness she embodies far exceeds any such words.  I’m certain those blessed enough to be a part of her world would agree.  When I’m in her company she makes me a little less unpolished!  Thank goodness she’s so forgiving because it seems the trade-off is that I make her a little more unpolished!!!!!!!!

What began as a random act of kindness and led to a true desire to spread kindness everywhere has since become a passionate mission.  Laura’s passion and commitment to spreading kindness by raising the awareness in children has now manifested into a universal call to action.

Laura, along with her friend Jen Einhorn co-founded  The Samaritans365 Foundation, a registered non-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended with the mission and goal that children of all ages and backgrounds become active and engaged members of their communities and that they ultimately grow into service-oriented community leaders and global environmentalist for today and generations to come.

SAMARITANS 365: One Good Deed At A Time

Samaritans365’s promise is that all children are educated and inspired to contribute to society by giving what they can to make the world a better place. In doing so, the children will develop a greater sense of personal confidence and gratitude. We do this by providing Samaritan365 programs that show children the fulfillment that comes from acts of charity and kindness to create positive change in the community. In this after school program, students learn what it means to be a “Good Samaritan” (a compassionate person who unselfishly helps others). They are taught different ways to contribute to their community and beyond. The after school program provides the children with age-appropriate, hands-on experiences that they enjoy doing while learning. These include activities that are created by the after school leader in which the children participate. There are also speakers from various community organizations who come to the meetings and teach the children about their organizations’ charitable goals.

I urge everyone to click the link and familiarize yourself with The Samaritans365 Foundation.  It may be a tall order, but Laura and Jen will not stop until their dream of spreading kindness one good deed at a time is recognized not just locally, statewide and nationwide but ultimately worldwide!
